Neanderthals, an ancient human species, may have lived alongside early modern humans, possibly sharing similar skills in tool-making and survival strategies. Some theories suggest they adapted well to cold climates, evident in their robust bones and unique skull shapes. Though much about them remains a mystery, studying Neanderthals offers fascinating insights into early human history and the complex web of our ancestral roots. #neanderthal #oldearth #uncanny #scary

THE AME-ONNA The Ame-onna, literally "rain woman", is a Japanese spirit (Youkai) who roams the streets and kidnaps any child she comes across. She is always accompanied by a supernatural rainstorm that is theorised to be of her doing. The ame-onna appears as a ugly, haggish woman, often licking the rain off her hands like a wild animal. She brings along a black sack which she uses to capture any kid she encounters. She can be easily recognised by her tendency to stand in the rain, which follows her in a vast area wherever she goes. The Ame-onna uses the rain to her advantage in order to kidnap kids and turn them into one of her kind. Her primary way to kidnap her victims is by hearing the cries of kids and sneaking into their house, while using the rain as a noise suppressor. Mothers who have their children snatched away in this manner are prone to becoming Ame-onna themselves out of grief and despair, hoping to replace their lost kid with someone else's. #ameonna #analoghorror #entities #creepy
