Pink Floyd has invaded the Dalí Dome. After the success of the Dalí Alive 360° debut last year, the Dalí Museum is sharing a second immersive experience in its futuristic dome: A 42-minute long, multi-sensory journey through the entirety of Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of the Moon.” It’s a fitting anniversary present for the album’s 50th year. Each song is played in surround sound, with a cascade of extraterrestrial images that envelop the viewer. There are dancing lasers, swirls of stars and plenty of Pink Floyd prisms. The result is a cross between a planetarium show and a music video — blown up on a giant screen that wraps all around and above you. “Our inspiration for the dome really comes from Dalí,” said Beth Bell, marketing director of The Dalí Museum. “He created environmental installations, like he did at the 1939 World’s Fair in New York. He worked with fashion designers. He collaborated in different areas.” During the show, visitors can soak it all in from a chair, walk around the curve of the dome or lie on the carpet and watch the colors melt overhead. The museum’s Café Gala will also be open on the evenings of the experience, featuring a special menu to correspond with the record.

Watch Salvador Dalí's work come alive in a way you've never seen before at The Dali Museum’s newest immersive experience: Dalí Alive 360° Opening to the public on Thursday, August 3, the multi-sensory art experience will envelop guests in 360° of light and sound in the massive 2,800-sq-foot dome on the property. ✨ EXPERIENCE IT ✨ 🎨 Dalí Alive is set up as 40-minute show + tickets are timed as such. 🎞️ There will be approx. 10 viewings per day 🎟️ Purchasing this $15 add-on experience in advance is highly recommended. A four-part story, the show starts in Spain where Dalí was born. It moves through highlights of his life like his work in Paris, meeting his wife Gala, his move to America, working with Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock, and his eventual return to Spain at the end of his life. The museum hopes that as Dalí embraced technology and looking at the world in new ways in his life, guests will be empowered to do the same.
