🐱 🪁 The Cat/Kite Rule: When a word has a /k/ sound In the beginning that is immediately followed by the vowel a, o, or u, we use the letter C to spell it. For example: cat, cap, cup, cod For all other two vowels, that is e or i, we stick with the letter K! For example: kite, kettle, key 🐈🪁Why teach this rule? This rule helps children determine if a word begins with C or K when they hear /k/ sound at the beginning of a word making them read and spell words more accurately and confidently!✨ 📚Practicing the Cat/Kite rule using fun and engaging activities like shared in the video will reinforce children understanding of this essential phonics rule! 💡💪 If you find this video helpful, please like, save, and share.
