I am an advocate of Sonarworks sound ID reference and I use it daily in both headphone and speaker modes. it helps me achieve balanced mixes faster. That being said there are a lot of misconceptions about its effectiveness in correcting room frequency response. a quick search will bring up dozens of video of engineers describing it as a "room correction tool". Sonarworks themselves refer to their product as a "speaker and headphone calibration" and never actually claim that it can correct your room frequency response. In fact It's reiterated again and again in the blog of their website that room acoustics cannot be fixed or flattened with EQ alone. A huge part of the misconception comes from the fact that Sound id reference measures the frequency response of your room and applies a corrective eq and shows what they call a "simulated after" as a nearly flat line accross the frequency spectrum rolling off in the subs. However if you were to measure the the frequency response of your room with sonar works applied again with REW or another software you will find that the resulting frequency response resembles a slightly flatter version of your original frequency response - a far cry from the flat line shown in the 'simulated after". The big take away here is that sonarworks helps a little but room eq correction is literally not a replacement for actual acoustic treatment when addressing frequency response at the listening position
