My August Curriculum: how I am starting my philosophy journey. I am diving deep into myths and origin stories from across the globe. I am really looking forward to reading all the different takes and thoughts on how we got here. I feel like this is the foundation of philosophy. Questions around purpose and why we exist feel like they need to be borne from how did we get here. I could be wrong but I am going to have so much fun finding out. Let me know if there are any stories I should read in my quest! Thanks for @xparmesanprincessx for the Inspo #philosophy #philosophytok #curriculum #readinglist #BookTok
August curriculum wrap up! This was phase 1 of my philosophy deep dive and I started with creation myths. I got a bunch of questions asking why I’m starting with creation myths and not Aristotle or Plato. I hope this video answers that question! If you want the full reading, watch and listen list to all the materials I consumed as part of my August curriculum they’re all on my Substack as well as longer form essays if you are thinking about looking into the same thing! #curriculum #philosophy #philosophytiktok #mythology #selfstudy
This audio has me cracking up! Not quite 24k but having a pocket journal has been a bit of a golden addition to my life 😉 #journal #pocketjournal #journaltok #fyp
The missing part of your curriculum!! This is a crucial part of self study which is necessary if you want to actually retain anything of what you’re reading, watching and listening to. There’s a reason we were told to write essays, present our findings or be examined. I’m not saying we need to get into that level but having a goal centered around an output will really enrich your curriculum experience and will likely keep you motivated! Journal is from @paper republic #curriculum #selfstudy #selflearning #learningtips #curriculumtiktok As ever thank you to @Elizabeth Jean for the curriculum Inspo!
Replying to @barricadeangel How to retain information! Crucial for any of us on a curriculum journey! I have a full Substack essay on this now live 🥰 Tagging the lovely ladies who asked about this in my previous video: @klmcco @yelani @Inês Nicolau335 @attilathepun #StudyTips #curriculum #selfstudy #BookTok #reading
Going back through journal entries allows me to see themes that I would have just sleepwalked through. If I see something over and over again in my journal it’s a sign that I need to do something about it or accept it. The spark of inspiration journaling brings me is unmatched. Truly. What are the benefits of journaling to you? #journaling #journal #journaltok #journalinspiration #creatorsearchinsights
essays I read this week instead of doomscrolling. These all centered around the importance of reading - all links and my thoughts are up on Substack! #substack #whatireadthisweek #essays #reading #BookTok
I’m doing it! I’m going to read the @The Booker Prizes longlist. I’m really excited - even more so as I’ve roped in my husband and a couple of mates to do the same and we are going to discuss our reads each week until the winner is announced. Evenings of discourse as we go into autumn sounds so dreamy! I love a reading challenge and I really enjoy reading the shortlist - this will be my first time attempting to read the longlist ahead of the announcement of the winner! Are any of you reading the longlist? Also if you haven’t been to @Hatchards whilst you’ve been in London - you’re truly missing out! #BookTok #books #bookworm #reading #creatorsearchinsights
Journaling everyday has been the single biggest game changer for me in terms of self care. You don’t have to be perfect. Nor does it have to be aesthetic - it can just be a brain dump; a list of stuff you need to do; some immediate thoughts. Anything. Once you get in the habit, you’ll feel it when you don’t journal. No one is looking for poetry here - don’t write for someone else to read. You can throw away your journal or rip out pages everyday if you’d prefer. It’s your space. #journaling #journal #journaltok #journalinspo #creatorsearchinsights
It all started from one plant!! Mine was the calathea ornate (ironically not in this video but dont worry she is still thriving in the bathroom 🪴) and we all know how fussy calatheas are so I figured well…seeing as I can keep the calathea plant alive PERHAPS I can keep several plants alive! For me, pet safety was key. Just seeing whether the cats would nibble first. When I saw that they were the least bit interested I went to TOWN!! What was your first plant that made you think your fingers were greener than you thought? 🌱 #plants #plantsoftiktok #PlantTok #plantlife #greenlife
