🔊 Olympic Marmot Scream 😂 Have you ever heard a marmot scream in the wild? They sound like birds, screaming children, or fire alarms and constantly confuse tourists at Washington's National Parks. This is the Olympic Marmot from Hurricane Hill, which has different colors than the Hoary Marmot of Mount Rainier. Last year, I posted a video of the screaming Hoary Marmot from Mount Rainier and was lucky to see it go viral. Many people asked for permission to share my video, but most people stole it and put their own watermark or sound on my video. If you see a marmot screaming somebody's name, that is my original video. Unfortunately I didn't even think about watermarking videos back then, which is my biggest regret. The amount of reposted videos I have seen has totaled to more than 2 billion views. It blows my mind that I edited a video that 2 billion people have seen, it doesn't even sound possible. The amount of money other people have made on my video does bother me a bit, as Wildlife Photography is already difficult to monetize and even moreso when people steal your video. But life is about learning from mistakes and I will always watermark videos and try to send out DMCA (copyright claims) asap. I started copyright claiming reposted marmot videos, but gave up when I passed 550 takedown requests. It is impossible to stop the reposts as this point. Oh well, here's another marmot screaming video 😂 #marmotscream #whistlepig #marmot #animalsounds #canonusa olympic_nps canonusa bbcearth wanatlparkfund olympicnationalpark natgeowild washingtontrails
🔊 What do you think this Pika is saying? 😳 This Pika chirped 59 times in a row, decreasing in tempo before letting out one final squeak at the end. This behavior is common for pikas in dispute. When Pikas squeak once or just a few times, that generally is their alarm call, or their way of letting a nearby pika know that it's about to go grab some food. But when I observe pikas repeatedly chirping like this, there usually seems to be a territory dispute or quarrel going on. #pika #pikasound #americanpika #animalsounds #canonusa bbcearth wanatlparkfund animalplanet mountrainiernps visitrainier canonusa discovery forrest.galante
🔊 Fox Sparrow Song 🎶 Fox sparrows are large, rust-colored sparrows with a complex song. They are known for their large color variance, with some fox sparrows being mostly red/rusty. After recording this Fox Sparrow sing for 15 minutes or so, I went through the footage and noticed the same song had more variations than other birds I've recorded. There are many fox sparrows singing in the colorful alpine meadows of Mount Rainier 🏔️ #foxsparrow #birdsong #birdsounds #canonusa audubonsociety audubonwashington canonusa wanatlparkfund cornellbirds mountrainiernps mtrainierwatch bbcearth birdsonearth visitrainier
🔊 Pika Squeaks 🔊 You can tell Pikas are related to rabbits and hares when you see their teeth. Pikas are the smallest animals in the Order Lagomorpha, same as rabbits, and they also have the smallest ears of the order. They may look like rodents, which is why some people call them the "mouse hare." Keep your eyes peeled and ears ready if hiking the Skyline Trail at Mount Rainier, you may encounter these cuties! #pika #americanpika #animalsounds #canonusa wanatlparkfund canonusa mtrainierwatch mountrainiernps visitrainier bbcearth animalplanet washdnr
🔊 Grouse Cooing Sounds 🔊 Have you heard these calls before? Low-pitch cooing calls are used to gather in the chicks. Sooty Grouse are a common sight at Mount Rainier, but these camouflage chickens blend in very well so you need to keep your eyes peeled. They hide next to tree trunks or under bushes where they camouflage perfectly. You might hear their scolding calls or coos before seeing them. #grouse #sootygrouse #grouseshooting #birdsounds #canonusa mountrainiernps wanatlparkfund canonusa bbcearth animalplanet cornellbirds audubonwashington audubonsociety visitrainier
🔊 Sooty Grouse Sounds 🔊 Male Sooty Grouse have some surprisingly low-pitched calls you might hear in the woods. This call is used to attract females and defend territory. The red, exposed skin may look weird to us, but to female grouse it's very attractive 😍 It's called Gular skin, used as a courtship display to show the health of the grouse. I was very lucky with this grouse encounter. Usually they are at a distance but this grouse was calling out in the open at Mount Rainier. #grouse #birdcalls #sootygrouse #canonusa audubonwashington audubonsociety canonusa mountrainiernps bird_planets birds_perfection cornellbirds wanatlparkfund visitrainier birds.nature animalplanet discovery
🔊 Pika Harmony 🔊 Sometimes pikas squeak at the same time, creating a harmony. I don't think they do this intentionally, but it's a cute coincidence whenever it happens 🐹 Have you ever heard a pika duet? . . #pika #americanpika #pikavids #pikasound #animalsounds #canonusa canonusa wanatlparkfund bbcearth animalplanet visitrainier mountrainiernps @
🔊 Dark-Eyed Junco Song 🔊 Have you heard this familiar bird call? Dark-Eyed Juncos are one of the most widespread birds in the US, with 15 noted subspecies. Their feathers boast some of the highest color variance for a single species. Juncos can look very different and have completely contrasting colors across state borders. #darkeyedjunco #junco #birdsong #canonusa wanatlparkfund canonusa mtrainierwatch mountrainiernps audubonwashington audubonsociety cornellbirds birdsonearth

Have you heard the Song Sparrow? Chances are you've heard one of the many melodies this bird sings. Males vary their song to stand out, which is why there have been over 1000 noted variations of the same tune! Song sparrows intentionally sing in their local accent, shared by neighboring sparrows. Females prefer males with the same neighborhood dialect. The Song Sparrow may be common, but it is one of my favorite vocalists in the bird world. Every song sparrow I film has a slightly different song 🎶 #songsparrow #birdsong #birdcall #birding #canonusa canonusa animalplanet bbcearth birdsonearth birds_perfection cornellbirds audubonsociety audubonwashington wanatlparkfund discovery
