Jokes are half meant. This line will always stick into my mind. The moment i heard Bobbie say this while watching this movie years ago made me realize that some jokes really are half meant to be true. Some would make a joke about something that happen into your life to make it a humour or should i call it an "inside joke". The moment i realized this was also the moment where i stopped making jokes that are "half meant" because to me its a personal attack towards you. I know someone who would make a joke about me or what happened to my life that I have shared with them before, and what's worse is that they would say it like they mean it. They would also say to not take it seriously because its only a "joke". That's where i also realized what Teddie said "eh kaya nga joke di ka dapat nasasaktan don" At this point I wouldnt even consider this as a joke anymore, i kind of felt offended that time. We weren't even that close for me to consider their joke and i cant believe they actually had the audacity to make an inside joke about that. Sure it is kind of funny but if we would take a look at it in a much deeper perspective, the situation of a person that you have "joked" with could have triggered his/hers emotions that might have caused her to be emotionally distressed, some might say pikon but i think they mightve felt offended, sure they might laugh, but you wont know what they have felt deep inside if theyve been offended or not. I am not against jokes, some inside jokes could be funny but id only consider those who are close enough for me to be on the same page with them, and atleast the way they would deliver that joke is should be in a way where they wouldnt say it like they mean it. I hope everyone here would realize this and i hope that the next time you would say something, you should atleast think about it first before saying it. And also please KNOW YOUR LIMITS if you think what youre about to say is going to offend someone might as well not say it at all, Sometimes its better to keep your opinions to yourself.
