Recipe for a Singular Challah (Makes 1 regular sized challah, 2 small loaves, or 4 -6 rolls) 3/4 cup water (can be any temperature except boiling!) 1/4 cup canola or olive oil 1/4 cup sugar or honey 2 -3 cups bread flour or mix 50/50 bread and whole wheat flour (start with 2 and add more if dough is too sticky) 1 teaspoon table salt 1 1/2 teaspoons instant (not rapid or quick rise) yeast Same directions and bake time as my traditional recipe. Challah Bread Pudding 16 oz challah cut into 1” cubes 6 tablespoons butter or vegan butter, melted 2 cups milk (whole is best, but 2% or vegan options work), warmed 1 3.4 oz packet instant vanilla pudding 3 eggs, beaten 3 tablespoons vanilla 1/2 cup sugar Pinch salt 2 tablespoons sugar for brûlée. Place bread cubes in a large bowl and set aside Add vanilla pudding packet to warmed milk, whisk until smooth, then pour into a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients (except for the sugar that will be brûléed. Mix well. Pour over bread cubs. Let sit and marinate for 30-45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Pour into a well greased 1 quart casserole dish. Bake for 50-60 minutes until browned and set. To brûlée Torch the top by slowly moving the flame very slowly across the top of the bread pudding, or put under the broiler for a couple of minutes (but keep an eye on it!). #breadpudding #viralrecipe #challah
