Good morning! ☀️ Here’s an easy-to-remember morning song for young children grounded in rhythm. The structure inherent in a consistent beat helps children organize their bodies and regulate themselves. 🥁 As always, you can add motions, you can sing it…make it your own! 🎶 I recommend repeating it 3-4 times with different variations, finishing with a soft one to end on a note of calm and focus. A musical way to play I Spy! This classic play-anywhere kids’ game (we always used to play it waiting at the pediatrician’s 😷)  helps develop listening, attention, observation, and memory. Children have to pay attention to their surroundings in the present moment (the very definition of mindfulness) and look for fine details to meet the challenge! 💥 You can vary the amount of time they have to find the object to make it more fun and challenging, and you could switch it up by using other characteristics, like shapes (“I found something round! Kids all up in each other’s business? 🤪Try this rap as a fun reminder that we keep our hands to ourselves. As a bonus, it uses rhythm and body percussion to help regulate and focus children. 🎶✨ Mix it up by changing the beat or use a different type of percussion (for example, if you’re standing, try it as a stomp-clap rhythm).
