An absolute thrill to have scored @Monkeypawproductions’ The Pigs Underneath, directed by the visionary Charlie Dennis. From the first read of Charlie’s haunting and powerful script, I was captivated by this crumbling dystopian world - a place where chilling horror meets deeply human beauty. It became the perfect creative playground to explore and experiment with sonic palettes. From metallic strikes and ticking clocks to desperate breaths and vocal textures, we wanted the score to feel like another character in the film - breathing, looming, hungry - contrasting the monstrous presence of the cart with the fragile humanity of our main characters and the resilient community they represent. This couldn’t be been possible without the wonderful @Universal Pictures GTDI family and TIFF for creating this brilliant initiative and allowing us to push the needle with our storytelling.
