About Itspetergabriel_official Sound Effects

Peter was one of the first people in the UK to own the Fairlight CMI, and used it extensively in the making of his fourth solo album. He describes how he was using sampling at that time in this clip from the South Bank Show. #electronicmusic #PeterGabriel #Fairlight #southbankshow
‘And Still’ is arguably one of the most skin-prickingly personal songs that Peter has ever written. “I wrote a song for my dad a number of years back, which I was actually able to play him, which was ‘Father, Son’. When my mum died, I wanted to do something for her, but it’s taken a while before I felt comfortable and distant enough to be able to write something”. - PG #petergabriel #newmusic #andstill
Today marks the official release of Peter's latest album, ‘i/o’. Releasing a new song every full moon has allowed each track the time and space to enjoy its own orbit, “a little like getting a Lego piece each month". All 12 tracks come with two stereo mixes: the Bright-Side Mix, handled by Mark ‘Spike’ Stent, and the Dark-Side Mix, as reshaped by Tchad Blake. There's also the In-Side 3D mix by Hans-Martin Buff. Now it’s time to stand back and admire the final, completed creation. #petergabriel #newmusic #album
Peter explains that time is special and how you spend it is important. Sometimes you have to ask yourself, is this what I want to be doing right now? i/o tour clock by #MaartenBaas #PeterGabriel #SoMuch #BehindTheSong #NewMusic #SongOfTheSummer
Hello TikTok, welcome to i/o #PeterGabriel #NewMusic
The first full moon of the summer is here, and so is the seventh track from i/o - the Dark-Side Mix of ‘So Much’. ‘The reason I chose So Much as a title is because I’m addicted to new ideas and all sorts of projects. I get excited by things and want to jump around and do different things. I love being in a mess of so much! And yet it also means there's just so much time, or whatever it is, available. Balancing them both is what the song is about.’ - PG #PeterGabriel #NewMusic #SoMuch #SongOfTheSummer
“I felt it was a special song, the like of which I hadn’t heard before in the way it integrated the different influences and tried putting together this love lyric, which was, in part, based on this African idea of having an ambiguous love song that can be human love, man to woman, or man to God. I loved the Youssou N’Dour bit at the end.” PG to @Rolling Stone in 2012. #Coversforlovers #livemusic #petergabriel
The forth track released from i/o during the full pink moon on April 6th was ‘i/o’. “We are like packets of atoms. We think we are independent and isolated - little floating islands, controlling and steering everything that we do. But if you look under the surface you find we are all connected in multiple ways. We all fit into this bigger whole and that’s what I was talking about in the song.” ‘Colour experiment no.114’ is an art piece by Studio Olafur Eliasson Pre-order i/o today! #petergabriel #io #newmusic
