He embarked on a solo career in the late 1970s, with the album Tony Tuff Meets Errol Scorcher. Soul Syndicate, originally called the Rhythm Raiders, were one of the top reggae session bands in Jamaica from the early 1970s to the mid-1980s. Winston McAnuff & The Black Kush Band - Fear (1982) Winston McAnuff first came to fame in the 1970s recording for Derrick Harriott. He is a gifted songwriter, charismatic performer and composer of reggae and dub music, also known under the stage name Electric Dread. 💬 In an interview with Skug Musikkultur magazine, when asked about who gave him this nickname and why, McAnuff explained: "It came through a man who saw me at a show performing and who was trying to take a photo but I was moving very fast … And after the show he was telling my producer: «I saw Winston at the show and I was trying to take a shot but he was moving like electric!». So Derrick Harriott said: «Oh, maybe that’s the right name for him!».
