“‘Til I Die” was released in 1971 on the Surf’s Up album by the Beach Boys. One of the few songs in which the words and music were written entirely by Brian Wilson, the autobiographical lyrics touch on themes of death and hopelessness. The song was inspired by and written while Wilson was struggling through an existential crisis after visiting a beach late one night. The song would go on to peak at number 89 on the Billboard chart, the first in 19 months to chart for the band. *Special thanks to @merchbar for sending me this great album to add to my collection 🎶 Excerpt: How deep is the ocean?
