✨️DEEP PURPLE✨️ Happy 80th B-Day Ritchie Blackmore is an English guitarist founding member lead guitarist of ⤵️Deep Purple 🔗@♪♫♪MaMaRoCkS¹³♪♫♪ 🔗@♪♫♪MaMaRoCkS¹³♪♫♪ playing jam-style hard rock music that mixed guitar riffs + organ sounds After leaving Deep Purple in 1975 Blackmore formed band Rainbow 🔗@♪♫♪MaMaRoCkS¹³♪♫♪ ⤴️Rainbow broke up '84 Blackmore re-joining Deep Purple until 1993 In 1997, he formed the traditional folk rock project Blackmore's Night along with wife Candice ✨️Early Years✨️ Richard Hugh Blackmore born 14 April 1945 Weston-super-Mare Somerset, England He was 11 when he was given his first guitar by his father on certain conditions inc learning how to play properly so he took classical guitar lessons for one year In an interview with Sounds magazine in 1979 Blackmore said that he started the guitar because he wanted to be like British musician Tommy Steele who used to just jump around and play Blackmore left school at age 15 and started work as an apprentice radio mechanic at nearby Heathrow Airport He took electric guitar lessons from session guitarist Big Jim Sullivan ✨️Career✨️ In 1960, he began to work as a session player for Joe Meek's music productions and performed in several bands He was initially a member of the instrumental band the Outlaws played in both studio recordings + live concerts like many bands of the era used other names (The Rally Rounders and The Chaps) to secure multiple repeat gigs Otherwise in mainly studio recordings he backed singer Glenda Collins German-born pop singer Heinz ("Just Like Eddie" +"Beating Of My Heart") Thereafter, in mainly live concerts, he backed horror-themed singer Screaming Lord Sutch beat singer Neil Christian and others Blackmore joined a band-to-be called Roundabout late 1967 after receiving an invitation from Chris Curtis while living in Hamburg arriving at the Curtis flat to be greeted by Curtis’ flatmate Jon Lord Curtis originated the concept of the band but forced out before the band fully formed After the line-up for Roundabout was complete in April 1968 Blackmore is credited with suggesting new name Deep Purple his grandmother's favourite song Deep Purple's early sound leaned on psychedelic and progressive rock but also included cover versions of 1960s pop songs "Mark One" line-up featuring singer Rod Evans bass player Nick Simper lasted until mid-69 produced 3 studio albums During this period organist Jon Lord appeared to be the leader of the band wrote much of their original material Mark II the most influential commercially successful lineup with Ian Gillan and Roger Glover replacing Evans + Simper respectively Mark III saw David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes replace Gillan and Glover respectively Mark IV feat Tommy Bolin replacing Blackmore The band split July 76 Bolin passed away five months later Deep Purple reformed in 1984 Mark II lineup remained in place until Joe Lynn Turner replaced Gillan in 1989 Gillan rejoined in 1992 Blackmore left for the second final time 1993 ✨️Rainbow✨️ Blackmore orig planned to make a solo album instead in 1975 formed Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow Rainbow's early work primarily used mystical lyrics with a hard rock/heavy metal style, then went in a more pop-rock oriented direction following Dio's departure In 1979, Blackmore and Powell revamped the group, recruiting three new members— singer Graham Bonnet keyboardist Don Airey bassist Roger Glover this line-up gave the band their commercial breakthrough with single "Since You Been Gone" fourth studio album Down to Earth With Joe Lynn Turner replaced Bonnet 1980 Rainbow recorded three more albums— Difficult to Cure (1981) Straight Between the Eyes (1982) Bent Out of Shape (1983) that had commercial Other members of the band during this period drummers Bobby Rondinelli Chuck Burgi keyboardist David Rosenthal The band split in 1984 when Blackmore and Glover re-joined Deep Purple (continues next video) #deeppurple #ritchieblackmore #70smusic #musictok #liverockmusic #70srock #ifonlyfor59seconds
