My new YouTube series “Awl About Bookbinding” premieres this Friday!!! In the first episode, we’ll explore the differences between book arts and fine binding. It’s been a few months in the making and we are ready to share it ✨ Some reflections that I recently shared on Patreon: Since I finished writing my book, I was feeling quite lost and uninspired. It’s been hard to admit it. The book took everything out of me, and it was a long time until I regained my creative energy. I pushed through mud to continue making content and selling my handmade books. It wasn’t until I attended the American Academy of Bookbinding when I felt an obvious shift in myself. This is what I’ve been looking for - a sense of community and camaraderie. It was more important than the learning itself. I was with people who also love making books and who inspired me to continue growing my artistry. That’s where I met @insiyadhatt, our guest in the first episode. I discovered that she has amazing vision for patterns and creative book structures, and she’s excellent at storytelling with her artist books. She’s also very active in the US bookbinding community, so I wanted to pick her brain about her experiences. Look out for the pilot episode on my YT channel this Friday morning pacific time!
