Prepare yourself for something extraORDINARY!! Those of you who follow us on Instagram may have taken notice of some of the amazing work being done by former PS22 Chorus of 2008 member, Isaiah Gattas, who is now a teacher working with special education students as their beloved, Mr. Isaiah!! He approached me with a project he invested his whole heart into, trying to promote the story of Dylan, one of his students who urgently needed a new kidney. Using his talent and resourcefulness, Isaiah helped raise awareness of Dylan's situation, and miraculously, a 24 year old Staten Island firefighter reached out and donated his kidney to Dylan!! THRILLED to report, both young men are doing great with incredibly positive prognoses! Words could never do justice to how proud I am of Mr. Isaiah and his above-and-beyond efforts to literally help save his student's life. So it was an incredibly surreal and full-circle moment when Isaiah approached me and invited the PS22 Chorus to be part of an upcoming celebration of Dylan's successful surgery which will take place at his school next week! The chorus will be singing the stunning song presented here, "ORDINARY" by Alex Warren, while Mr. Isaiah's students will be dancing along!
