The leadership in those spaces is non-existent. I could trust some of my autistic and ADHD students to move with the class after prepping them for these situations ahead of time. Others had risk of eloping, freezing, making noise, or automatically going into fight. I could trust my students with chronic illnesses to hide, but they had to have medications on hand. What if they needed their insulin? Their glucagon? Their inhaler? What if their pumps alarmed like mine, or became disconnected?
