You can imagine it to be whoever you ship Circe with , but I'm going to be imagining it as Telemachus ! @Telecommunicationsšŗāļøš¹ š¦ inspired me to write a deep story on this . heh . that will be below :D . . OK OK SO like what if Circe waited for Telemachus?? like not even in the sweet romcom way but in that messed up tragic way where she didnāt know she was waiting for him at all ??? šš Like picture this . after Odysseus leaves , Circe tells herself she's fine . She pretends it was all just fun , a distraction , a lesson , whatever . She's a Goddess , she has immortality and an island and all the magic in the world , why should she miss some man who only stayed for a year ?? But the truth is .. she's lonely . Like that soul-crushing , deep-sea kind of lonely where time moves but you don't . sure ! Hermes comes and goes sometimes , but only to mess with her and her fragile heart that she hides behind a pair of claws . She keeps turning sailors into pigs not because she's cruel but because it's predictable . Safe . No one stays . Why should they ? Why should she let them ? But then YEARS later this boy shows up , Telemachus . And he's just a boy , like , barely matured , awkward , quiet , and too observant maybe 22 at the most . And Circe is like oh . Oh no . Not again . Sheās thinking "heās just like his father ." but then ā¦ heās not . Heās kinder . Softer . And he listens . Like REALLY listens . And when he talks to her , itās not with fear or lust or manipulation , itās like heās actually seeing her , and she doesnāt know how to handle that ?? At all ?? so she pushes him away, again and again , thinking "heāll leave soon" or "heāll get bored ." But he doesnāt . He keeps coming back , sitting with her in silence , bringing her little things like sea glass or stories or questions about the stars . And every time he leaves her palace , she sits there like āwhy does this HURT??ā but girl you are a GODDESS you do not need to be catching feelings rn bby š. Eventually she starts counting the days . How long itās been since he last visited . How many times heās smiled . How long he looks at her before looking away . She HATES herself for waiting , but she still does . She waits and waits , even when heās gone on trips or back to Ithaca or anywhere else , sheās always half-expecting him to walk back in . And maybe , at some point , she stops waiting . Like , she tells herself itās over . He probably forgot about her . Maybe she even tries to move on , talks to Hermes again , flirts with mortals who wash ashore , but nothing works . None of it feels the same . And then one day Telemachus comes back . Older . Tired . Wiser . And Circe realizes sheās been waiting this whole time . Not just for him to return , but for herself to be ready . For her to believe someone could care for her without breaking her .
