Replying to @clickandpastey as well, i told my dad (a veteran teacher) how i had kids cry when i first taught them rounding. i thought the steps were obvious, but he told me rounding is one of the concepts kiddos find super complicated b/c it’s quite abstract. i’d recommend using a number line so students can use their understanding of place value to build their understanding of rounding. for example, if I’m trying to round 342 to the nearest hundred, I’d draw a line with 300 at one end and 400 at the other. draw a line for 350, then place the number you’re rounding along the line. since 342 is less than 350 (we round up if the number to the right is 5 or greater), we can SEE that we round to 300, not 400. using the number lines will help make the rounding rules more visual until kiddos understand the steps (hopefully)! #secondyearteacher #elementaryteacher #teacherhumor #teacherlife #teacherproblems #teachersoftiktok #teachinginreallife #splitgradeteacher #tiktokteacher #tpt #teacherspayteachers #rounding #mathtips #greenscreenvideoReplying To @clickandpastey Sound Effects Free Download.
