repost @byob.ice.screen on IG 🌀 What’s BYOB? Bring Your Own Beamer is a DIY exhibition format where artists bring their own projectors and decide what and how to show. No curators, no rules, no white walls — just light, video, and freedom. The first BYOB happened in Berlin in 2010. This year marks its 15th anniversary. On May 14, we hosted our own version at Kühlhaus Berlin — not a classic BYOB setup, but close: we used an existing projection infrastructure across three full floors + a cube for AV shows. We featured work from around 40 artists and hosted 4 live AV performances. Even though everything was already wired, a few people still brought their own beamers — and that felt truly BYOB. 📅 Now we’re preparing the next edition — August 8, again at Kühlhaus.
