I actually love being alone and always have. Some of the loneliness experiences of my life were surrounded by people, in relationships, and while having many friends. It’s a terrible feeling to feel alone while in the company of others. Realizing that time after time, most definitely cured me of prior instances of FOMO. Despite my love of being alone, I still do get plagued by the unsettling feeling that I have to constantly stay busy doing something. It’s been an uphill battle to find peace and comfort in the stillness, but adding little bits into my daily routine has done wonders. Things such as; every morning when my alarm goes off, I turn it off and that’s it. I don’t check my phone or computer at all. I give myself a minimum of 10 minutes every morning to start my day in solitude and peace. This has helped me a lot to stay connected to myself and positivity. And at the end of the day, I have a designated time to unplug and disconnect by. No more touching the phone at all.
